My Academic Genealogy

Recently, I stumbled upon this somewhat peculiar trend of creating ‘academic family trees’ in certain fields. These trees essentially map out an academic’s educational lineage. Now, this kind of thing is usually more common in the natural sciences, especially in math. But it got me thinking about my own roots in the social sciences. Well, it turns out I’ve got more ties to the natural sciences than I initially thought. Thanks to my supervisor who not only taught me a lot of of valuabe lessons but also left me a really easily tracable lineage I was able to piece together my own academic family tree pretty easily, uncovering a rich history of intellectual lineage that spans over a thousand years.
