New paper out — The Volebny Kompas Datasets on Slovak Voter and Party Positions
After a lot of hard work, it’s finally out! My amazing colleagues Kamila Borsekova, Lorenzo Cicchi, Vladimír Müller, Robert Vancel, Patrícia Šimková and Kevin Deegan-Krause and I have just published our latest paper in Scientific Data.

Launch of the Volebný Kompas 2023 voting advice application
We have launched a new voting advice application (VAA) called ‘Volebný kompas’ to help Slovak voters make an informed decision in the 2023 Slovak snap parliamentary elections. The tool was launched in a joint effort by our Institute for Democracy at Matej Bel University and the European Governance and Politics Programme at the European University Institute.

My Academic Genealogy
Recently, I stumbled upon this somewhat peculiar trend of creating ‘academic family trees’ in certain fields. These trees essentially map out an academic’s educational lineage. Now, this kind of thing is usually more common in the natural sciences, especially in math.
